American Idol: Idol Gives Back

Well, it was a very impressive night! Many of those videos were just heartbreaking. Every six hours a child is killed due to abuse or neglect!? In our country! That was shocking. Everything was shocking! America almost looked like a third world country. It is a shame that we let it get this far. We allow that many people to die in Africa due to AIDS and malaria. That we let these kids live like this in our own country. I pray that this world changes somehow. I really do. It really inspired me to do something. I know I can't change the world, but I want to be the change I want to see in the world. I am no longer going to throw my body around by drinking. I need to appreciate the health, the life, and the things that I have. I also need to appreciate my talent. Therefore, that is why I have decided to begin work on a project with a friend of mine involving music. I feel that we, as a culture, have gone away from the meaning of music. To inspire, to emote, to change. The Beatles, Michael Jackson, U2, Bob Marley, and many others had it right. This is what our generation is lacking; "The Voice". Someone to sing about the Iraq, poverty, HIV/AIDS, Darfur, and even our government. Sure, we hear songs here and there, but no artist in recent times has dedicated their entire projects to the cause; and that's a shame. We live in such turbulent times and important times where our world is changing. This is my change.

But enough with the serious stuff; how was the show!? I LOVED seeing the So You Think You Can Dance dancers (I cannot wait for that show to come back on). Especially dancing to Rihanna. Kickass. The performances were great!!! Fergie looked and sounded great with Heart! Miley Cyrus...I hate hate hate you! But I love that song, dammit. And did anyone see her grind the floor!? Girl is 15! She is gonna be in rehab by 18...watch it! Daughtry's song was awesome, I was glad to see him. And Carrie, well, she's amazing! Teri Hatcher; it was cute...and you could tell she knew she couldn't sing, but it was for the cause. Jimmy, Sarah, Billy, and "Ivan Yakinoff" were hilarious! They were awesome additions! Mariah did a very good performance, as well. I love that song, so I'm glad they sent it off with that. Although, I feel they should've had Kelly Clarkson (hell, if they played See You Again they could've done Sober), Jordin Sparks, and so many other singers. But all-in-all I was very happy. I cannot wait to purchase the tracks (so I can donate). But I am excited for Jordin and Chris Brown tomorrow night! Three nights of Idol this week; feels like Christmas!!
