Against my will, I went and saw The Ruins. Now, I will say, first off, that this movie had very interesting points! There were a few parts where I was like "hmmm...that was clever"...but overall the feeling left was I had just left a comedy. So many camera shots, dialogue choices and deliveries, and even plot points were outright ridiculous. Basically, it's Little Shop of Horrors gone very, very, very wrong. Instead of the plant eating you, the plant waits til your dead or grows inside of you. But you would think "well, why not leave the ruins". Well, once you touch the plant, the locals surround you and keep you there with their guns and arrows. They come in, set up camp, and wait until you die. Great plot! The gore and "horror" come, not from the plant, but from the legit gore they put in there. There is more self-mutalization than any film I think I've seen. It was rather uncalled for. Regardless, I don't have much to say about this film because there was not much to it! Although, the cast members were very hot (if I might add). We may see some Spankbank additions ;)
